Lucy Eggleton

Lucy is a Musculoskeletal & Sports Physiotherapist, who graduated in 2009 from Middlesex University with a first-class award in BSc (Hons) Sports Rehabilitation & Injury Prevention, then gained her MSc (Pre Reg) in Physiotherapy from Kings College London in 2012.

Throughout her 15-year career, Lucy has developed extensive experience and an in-depth knowledge base having worked within a mixture of private practice, elite sport, and musical theatre. She has insight and knowledge of multiple sports disciplines, from grassroots to elite level, reinforced by her own prior experiences as a national-level gymnast. Lucy’s broad spectrum of experience means she is comfortable with all conditions, treating the general population alongside sports injuries, but has particular special interests in Athletics, Performing Arts, Paediatric/Adolescent injuries, and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders.

Alongside her clinical work, Lucy works for British Athletics and England Athletics supporting elite athletes at national and international competitions, training camps, and return to sport and high-performance programmes following injury. This is a role she thoroughly enjoys, especially the opportunity to travel the world. She is also the England Athletic Talent Pathway Physiotherapist, working to support athletes on Youth, Junior & Senior Talent Pathway Programs. Through her time working within musical theatre, she has gained extensive experience working with theatre performers, dancers, singers, and musicians from a variety of West End stage productions and The Royal Ballet. A career highlight was touring with Billy Elliot the Musical (2016) as resident physiotherapist.

As a mother, Lucy is passionate about pre and postnatal rehabilitation. Following her pregnancy, she has taken time to study the impact of pregnancy on the female body and how best to support women through their pregnancy journey and return to exercise following birth.

Lucy strives for an individualised treatment approach with a desire to maximise patient potential. She prides herself on clear communication and is committed to working on the root cause of an injury. A patient’s health and well-being are of top priority, and she seeks to maintain/regain fitness and activity levels regardless of age, ability, or fitness aspirations. Taking time to listen to her patients, she believes in educating and empowering them to achieve their goals, with a clear understanding of their injury status and the appropriate management plan. She is empathetic and clear in meeting her patient’s injury needs to return them back to optimal function in a safe yet accelerated manner.
