Costs & FAQ

The charge for a physiotherapy treatment session is £65 for up to 40 minutes. We set our fees to be very competitive given the quality of service we feel is provided. For more complex issues we run some hour or longer appointments to allow us the time to work thoroughly through all your issues. This is charged pro-rata at £98.

Please pay on the day, unless claiming through your insurance.

We have 40-minute treatment slots as we do not feel we can do the job properly in less.

We reassess at every treatment session and the extra time we allow is invaluable to ensuring the best treatment is afforded to the patient.

  • Can I claim through my private health insurance?

Yes. If you do wish to claim through an insurance company please ensure that they know you are coming for treatment before you have your first appointment.   It may also be necessary for you to have been referred by your GP or specialist and that they sign your claim form. Please ensure that you bring all your insurance details with you when you attend your first appointment. Your invoice will then be sent to the insurance company for payment.

We would also ask that you check your policy with regard to excess. Your insurance company will deduct your excess from our invoice so we would ask that this could be settled promptly.

Please note, Bupa is no longer on our list of accepted insurance providers and we are registered as an out of network clinic for Vitality.  If you have any questions, please call us on 01604 601641.

  • What if I am unable to attend my appointment?

Please contact the practice immediately if you are unable to attend your appointment.   If you discover out of clinic hours then there is an answer machine and your message will be picked up the following morning or click on the link at the bottom of our home page and send us an email.

  • Will I be charged for non-attendance?

We have a large waiting list, please give us at least 24 hours notice. We now have the ability to text you a reminder of your appointment which is sent two days before to give you plenty of time to rearrange.  A 50% charge will be made unless there are exceptional circumstances.

  • What shall I wear?

To accurately assess and treat we need to have access to the area of the body concerned. This will need some undressing.

    • Men. If it is your neck, shoulder or mid back you will need to have your shirt off. If it is your lower back, pelvis, groin, thigh, shin, ankle or foot we would normally need you to take your trousers off. The most comfortable way to dress is in shorts. Please bring these along with you.
    • Women. If it is your neck, shoulder or mid-back you will need to have your shirt off. We are comfortable for you to be in your bra but a narrow strapped t-shirt would also be fine. If it is your lower back, pelvis, groin, thigh, shin, ankle or foot please wear loose fitting trousers or shorts.
    • Generally the most comfortable way to dress is in shorts. Please bring these along with you and change either before your appointment or we will give you private time during it.
If you would like to bring a chaperone with you then please do so. We are unable to provide a formal chaperone for you.
    • Athletes. If you are possibly going to be asked to go on the treadmill please bring trainers, any orthotics you may have and your running kit.
  • What are the opening times?

The clinic is open five days a week, including evening appointments.

We generally have appointments from 8am until 6pm. Please note that the early morning and evening appointments are very popular so there may be a short wait for those to be available.

  • My injury is not sports related, should I still come?

Of course. 80% of our patients have non-sports related problems. We deal with problems from head to toe in normal people!

  • Wheelchair Access

We have wheelchair access to the ground floor, designated disabled parking and toilet.

  • Parking

We have a free car park behind the building from Lower Thrift Street. We would ask that you park with due care, our car park is a very busy place and space is at a premium. Please see the directions page for further details below.
