The Spring ligament is hugely important to the stability of the foot. It sits between the Navicular and the front of the Calcaneus or heel bone, which are at the top of the arch of the foot.
Damage to this ligament plays an important role in the development of flat foot deformity, where the arch is flattened. It can happen over a long period of time, due to poor foot strength and control. Otherwise it can happen traumatically with a heavy landing on the foot.
Getting it diagnosed and treated quickly is key and we have huge experience in dealing with this type of issue.
