Breathing Disorders

The ribs move like bucket handles, up and down as you breathe in and out. The diaphragm is integral to this and correct function and timing are crucial to good lung health as well as sporting ability and fitness. They also play a big part in our ability to turn and rotate, particularly when swimming or running. Stiffness and dysfunction in the ribs lead to mechanical problems that flow down the whole chain of the body.

Numerous lower limb issues such as recurrent Achilles tendon and shin problems can be traced back to rib and breathing issues, particularly in runners. This is often neglected by other practitioners.

We also treat many patients with scoliosis and growth issues involving breathing disorders.
