Groin Pain

The groin is a complex region where many different structures join together from the thigh and the lower trunk.

Issues are most commonly muscular strains but can be more difficult like pelvis problems and hernia.

Bone issues like Ostitis Pubis can be very painful and take a long time to treat. Stress fractures are common with runners in particular and need to work on the underlying causes as well. They are often missed so get it looked at.

The central pubic symphysis is the attachment point for many muscles and groins tendon and muscle strains are common in footballers and people who play games which require a lot of sharp change of direction.

Slightly more to the side are again numerous muscle and nerves, all of which are vulnerable.

There is much physiotherapy can do for all of these issues but it starts with a comprehensive assessment.
